This is Poetry About Life but hey, I can't tell you what to think...

President's Day

Poetry About Life by Matthew J. Beard

On President's Day
I have precendent to say
We cannot see past
What we don't understand
And so now
Can give you no reply
to the simple minded remarks
Such sarcastic tone
Such hypnostic ways
Leads me to say
You speak your mind
I'm not looking for a reason
To my open minded dissent
But I don't want to be futile,
I don't want to behave
I just need to break the rules
Brought forward by fools
Story time is over
And the children are free
To dream the thoughts that make their minds
Free from you and...
I see what isn't meant to be looked at
And pose the question why?
But how can you claim to see through me when you won't understand?
But,
I don't want to be futile,
I don't want to behave
I just need to break you rules
Brought forward by you fools.

So is this my time?
To wonder why
And think myself out of this perpetuating situation?
So,
I don't want to be futile
I don't want to behave
I just need to break your rules
So I'm not your slave
You brainwashing imbeciles!
You never knew what it is true
You just make your exceptions for the powerful few
And I will not choose to follow you!
Cause, I don't want to be futile
I don't want to behave
I just need to break your rules
So I'm not your fucking slave!
Call me "servant"
Call me your "worker"
This labor is perpetual debt
This misleading system
Perpetual debt.
