The Poetry of Matthew J. Beard
I write a lot of poems. A lot of it is the piece of mind of a young, frustrated, dreaming idealist, and some of it is about love... and hate. My influences lie in the imaginations of dead poets such as Jim Morrison, William Blake, and Edgar Allan Poe, and Yeats. My early inspiration can be drawn from just listening to music. Sometimes I would hear bands like Anti-Flag and Metallica (albums such as "Mobilize" and "And Justice For All") and not understand some of the words they were saying. My mind would replace the real words I was hearing with my own words and phrases. From there my imagination did the rest. I hope it brings inspiration to anyone that reads it, or just plain amusement. These are the first books of poetry. There will be a new poem posted below every so often.
