This is Sad Poetry but hey, I can't tell you what to think...

Corporate America

Sad Poetry by Matthew J. Beard

Introduction: I used to be a leftist. In my first year of study at Montana State University Billings, I heard of the crooked things the Bush Regime was doing to America... and the middle east. You can imagine how pissed off I was! Before then I was a Christian Conservative, leaning Republican for the war in Iraq. This is the first chapter of my political life.

What the corporate clowns "can't" tell us won't hurt us,
Right?
Right!

The end of the world as we know
It is over
Seems to be ending itself
Right away,
A waze past the skies
It flies,
But not on wings
All of these subtly crazy things
Beginning to end.

It's how you perceive the thoughts that people give
As you go on living and,
Doing what they brand into our own minds
(Even) As breathing
Everything in society seems to have to be labeled (as something)
Maybe we can understand it better
To fear it less
And this is why
Corporate is America,
And America is corporate.

Those clowns you despise
Seem to make you do
What they tell you to
Can't seem to help it
Why can't we fight it,
Ever-growing monster machine
There is not comforting
So no one wants to feel it
There is no faith running our religion
The root of all evil
Keeps it all going
Corporate is America
And America is corporate
Fueled by green gasoline
The root of all evil
Corrupts kindly corporate
And the monster machines
Run by corporate clowns
